Fondant vs Buttercream

For those who might be wondering, I LOVE the look of fondant, but I can't stand the taste of it. That is why, wherever possible, I use buttercream as the base for my cakes, using fondant only sparingly as decoration. I am more than willing to work with my client's preferences, but given my choice, I will always go with buttercream.
